Summers in western Alaska are typically very
nice. June temperatures range from 50 to 70 degrees with mostly sunny
days creating ideal conditions for mosquitoes. July
temperatures range from 60 to 85 degrees with the days again usually
sunny. The "Alaskan Nat" really like the warm days in July. You will
want to bring a head net or a supply of cigars to combat these nasty
little critters. August temperatures range from 50 to 70 degrees with
the days being overcast and rainy. The cooler August weather typically
all but eliminates the bugs. ** August is usually our rainy season.
The end of August is when the weather begins to change into its fall
pattern. September temperatures range from 40 to 60 degrees; mornings
are cool, the afternoons are warm. In September the weeks become divided
up by the changing weather patterns; sunny and cool to overcast and
rainy. Our advice is to bring clothing that can be worn in layers; boat
rides can be cold, the fishing very hot!!! Again, please pack with
weight as a concern, 50 pounds per person.
