Salmon

Although Midnight Sun Trophy Pike Adventures primarily caters to the trophy pike fisherman, we would hate to send you home without experiencing one of Alaska's great wonders, its fantastic salmon fishing. Being centrally located between the Yukon and Kuskokwim rivers, Midnight Sun offers its guests salmon fishing on some of the most remote pristine salmon rivers in the state.

Our salmon season starts in early June for the mighty king salmon. These fish will average 20 to 25 pounds with fish running up to 45 pounds. Due to our location, we are within a short plane ride of three different river drainages. This allows us to have one of the longest king salmon seasons in the state. We will be fishing rivers such as the Unalakleet, Anvik, Aniak and all their tributaries.

During the month of July, our guests have the opportunity to catch four of the five species of salmon. In addition to the king salmon, you can catch the hard-hitting chum salmon, one of the most underrated sport fish in the state; the aggressive pink salmon, and the silver salmon. The Anvik drainage receives over one million chum salmon each year. The Unalakleet gets over one million pinks.
Late July through the end of the season you will experience the best silver salmon fishing Alaska has to offer. Due to location and our mobility we experience excellent fishing right up to the end of our season.

The MSTPA sportsman's guide brochure insert will help you plan those dates.
