2004 MSTPA Weekly Fishing Reports
Week
1
Family Week
Total Fish: 99 Big Fish: Tyler (a daring six year old angler): 34'', Brad: 40'', Pat: 43'', Laurie: 35'', Jacob and Greg (Jacob being a not so daring four year old): 42'', and Danae: 40''. On June 17th, Tyler landed a 7lb. Sheefish and is able to apply for the IGFA Small Fry World Record. Way to go Tyler! The weather was good, water rising all except the last two days. The fish count is only for Brad, Tyler and Pat, who were the only serious fisherman in the group.
Brothers Ed and Pete Giachetti. You guys were terrific, and very good fisherman! Poor Pete without his things for an entire week and still a smile on his face! We really hope that you will join us again, soon.
Total Fish: 66
The Sheefishing was busy and Ed caught the big one of the season (so far) weighing in at around 20 lbs.
Fishing overall was slow, the water finally started to go down about four inches a day. Weather was nice, sunny with afternoon showers.

4
The Csonka Show! What a fun and exciting week. We will post show times as soon as they are available, the show is scheduled to air in January. Also abord this week Bruce and Andy Randermann, more of Leon's large and friendly family. Thank you for joining us, all of you, Larry, Audrey, John, Pat, Bruce and Andy!
Total Fish: 247
The weather was nice, sunny with only one cloudy day. The fishing was good all except the 3rd day, a little toughter due to the heat. Shefishing remained good with quite a few large ones caught.
Welcome to our guests from Colorado, and Chris and Larry from right here in Alaska. Great guests! New friends, looking forward to a great article to be published from Chris Batin. (I will post more information when I receive it)
Total Fish: 528
Warm weather, very warm water temperatures at 75 degrees. Da three and four very smoke filled from all of the 75 fires burning here in Alaska. Visibilty reduced to less than a half a mile at times. Overall fishing was good, sheefishing still strong with 63 fish being caught, many of them in the 25 to 30lb. range and a few at 40lbs. Chopper caught the first Chum Salmon!

6 Welcome Simply Fishing, Bob Mehsikomer, crew and guests! We were thrilled to have you aboard. Looking forward to seeing the finished production!

Paul also caught a 44'' Sheefish with a 23'' girth! What a monster!
The weather for all five days was hot and sunny.
A fantastic group all returning to Midnigth Sun from seasons past! Thank you, it was wonderful to have you all aboard! We look forward to many, many returns. Leon also joined us this week, he seems unable to resist that Alaska fix!

Very hot weather, very high water temperatures. The river was dropping at a rate of about 4'' a day, and still muddy. Good fishing in spite of it all.

Weather:Day one, sunny and hot, day two, cloudy and cooler, day three, cloudy, day four, partly cloudy and hot, day five, sunny and hot.
The weather is too hot! The big fish are not very active and we are having to fish very slow. Record low water and heat this year. Week 9
Welcome Italy!
Great group of very serious fisherman. A joy to have aboard. Paolo has written several books and also writes for several magazines in Europe. Hopefully we will receive a copy of what he writes for us! Hopefully we sill see you in August next year.

The weather for all five days remained hot and sunny. The water is very hot and very low, still dropping up to 4'' a day.
Week 10
A week hosted by Mr. John Curls of Lakeland Florida. Thank you for returning to the Midnight Sun with your son Matt, Tammy and Kevin. What an enjoyable week!

The weather was fair. Partly cloudy days. The water remains hot and continues to drop right up to the last day.
Week 11
Thomas Grainger of Silvertip Adventures from Saratoga Wyoming hosted this week, and brought with him a great group of anglers! A pleasure to have you return, this your second visit to the Midnight Sun.

The water level stabilized and remained hot until the last day. Fianlly with cooler temperatures the fishing became awesome!
Week 12

Great week of fishing with the 53'' being our largest fish of the season! WAY TO GO RICK! Rick managed to catch 27 or 28 fish over 40''.
The weather was partly cloudy and nice. The water began to drop again, and went down three inches in three days.
Week 13
Barry Reynolds and guests. Part of the group being die hard fisherman from Colorado, returning for more Alaska adventure! Great group - great fisherman!

Cloudy on the first day. Rain on day two. Day three, morning fog, and improved thereafter.
Week 14
Barry Reynolds second week. Fun guys. Special thanks to Woody of Hook-um-up Adventures in Aniak, who sent Allen and Paul to us for a day of Pike fishing.

Very hot weather. Water up to 75 degrees.
Week 15
Jim and Jane returning to Midnight Sun, now empty nesters enjoying some time for themselves. Joe and Jerry first time guests from Minnesota.

Good group, each evening swapping tales of their day! Joe and Jerry caught very nice Sheefish.
The weather for the week was HOT! The water the same, continuing to drop.
Week 16
Mitch and Don each returning to Midnight Sun for a second trip. Harry, Kevin and Moose joining us for their first Alaska Adventure. Great group, great week of fishing!

Weather the first day was still hot. Next four days cooler and smoky. The water dropped six inches and cooled 14 degrees in five days. Day three Don and Mitch each caught eight fish over 40''.
Week 17
Dave Traxinger hosting a week with family. What a wonderful family you are blessed with!

Weather cloudy, no rain. Water dropping quickly and cold.
This group also caught 433 Salmon in 2 days!
Week 18
Dave hosting week number two, this time with a hard core fishing group. There was more laughing and story swapping in these two weeks than ever I think aboard the Midnight Sun!

Weather the first two days cold and cloudy, then sunny and nice. Water remained cold and continued to drop.
This group also did well with the Salmon catching 210 in two days.
Week 19
Our final week, we welcomed Tom and Bob, Dave and Virginia, all first timers aboard the Midnight Sun.

The weather was good, colder nights, down below freezing. River still dropping.
